Six kilometers form the town is the Chiprovtsi monastery, founded in 15 -th century, several times destroyed and later rebuild, an important study center, that was in relationship with russian monasteries during the ottoman slavery. Preserved is the monastery church from year 1829 with valuable wood-carving and old iconography, the monastery tower that keeps bones of the perished in the Chiprovtsi arising from year 1688.

The chiprovtsi monastery plays an important role in the arisings
through 18 century.
After the Liberation the monastery buildings are renewed in
revival style.
